DATA CENTER Engineer
Intelletec is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join their client's Systems Data Center team in their data center in central New Jersey. This team is responsible for the design, build, and coverage of firm wide critical infrastructure, including data centers, co-location facilities, and machine rooms. WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You’ll work on all areas of our data center operation as part of our existing team to rack, install, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and networking equipment, and install and troubleshoot copper and fiber cables. Additional responsibilities will include shipping, receiving, and inventory control of our installed technology, spare parts, and cables. You’ll work closely with globally based teams and/or vendors to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical and non-technical issues.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
•Candidates should have well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
•Proven attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required, as the role requires identifying and resolving a variety of issues.
•Some hands-on work experience in technology is desired; previous data center exposure is a plus.
•Experienced candidates with recent data center exposure are encouraged to apply.
•The position requires some flexibility in working hours (some evenings and weekends), along with reliable transportation.
•Some experience in project management or program management is beneficial but not required.
