Due to rapid growth our client is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join their hardware engineering team. You will be actively customizing vendor supplied Board Support Package (BSPs), developing Linux device drivers for a variety of peripherals (connected to I2C, SPI, USB, MIPI DSI/CSI, and/or GPIO), and bringing up drivers on custom HW platforms. Experience with using the Yocto Project build environment to create embedded Linux distributions is required. You should have strong debugging and troubleshooting skills and be comfortable using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, soldering equipment, and power supplies.


In addition to meeting the requirements mentioned above, having an eagerness to dive into new technologies and tasks is ideal. Any experience working with WiFi/Bluetooth modules in the Linux/Yocto environment, as well as an understanding of the Linux networking stack, would be ideal. Since our products utilize processors from NXP/Freescale (iMX) and Qualcomm, any experience with these SOCs would be beneficial.



  • Experience customizing vendor supplied Board Support Package (BSPs) and bringing up Linux based drivers on custom HW platforms

  • Experience using Yocto Project build environment to create embedded Linux distribution

  • Experience writing device drivers for peripherals (I2C, SPI, USB, MIPI DSI/CSI, GPIO, etc)

  • Experience implementing and/or modifying bootloaders (uBoot)

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills (for board bring up and driver testing process)

Bonuses / Nice to have

  • Experience working with WiFi and Bluetooth modules in the Linux/Yocto environment

  • Experience working with the Linux networking stack

  • Experience with NXP iMX or Qualcomm SOCs
