Intelletec has partnered with the world’s first autonomous traffic management platform, led by a team of experts in machine learning, data science, transportation, and government technology.

 

They are looking for an Engineering Director of Hardware to help shape the strategic direction of the company. You will be responsible for managing hardware-centric teams and projects for advanced computer vision and telemetry systems with hands-on contribution as well as coordination across multiple disciplines and functional groups. 

 

Responsibilities

  • You will directly manage the mechanical, electrical, firmware, and other hardware systems resources and projects.  

  • You will need to be able to identify and lead areas requiring continuous improvements for projects involving hardware while executing end-of-life strategy and working cross-organizationally with Operations, Service, and Engineering teams. 

  • You will report to the VP of Engineering while coordinating deliverables with the Software TPM and Supply Chain & Logistics. 

  • Further, you will work with internal teams to define requirements and schedules.

  • In this position, it is crucial that you communicate and work effectively with teams located globally including company leadership, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and customers.

  • you need to be an effective people manager able to structure and grow teams while keeping them oriented to the technical tasks at hand.  

Skills

  • Bachelor's Level Degree 

  • Team management work experience of 4+ years

  • 5+ years of experience in a Hardware or Systems Engineering related role

  • Deep understanding of project deliverables and schedule management for product development life cycle

  • Deep understanding of cross-functional team member roles, responsibilities and deliverables (Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, UX/UI, Firmware, Reliability testing, Operations-->Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Distribution)

  • Understand/use Systems Engineering principles in product development, sustaining, and improvements

  • Highly desired - Experience of shipping product

  • Experience with cameras, GNSS, LTE or complex SOCs
