Our early stage startup with over $5million in recent funding is seeking their first Engineering Manager who has experience building platforms, leading teams and processes at scale.
The three founders have built three unicorns, sold three companies, and have spent most of their lives in construction technology.
This role will work very closely with their Product team to ensure buyers have excellent experiences with our service. This is a do-build-lead role: you’ll do everything yourself for the first couple of months to get the ball rolling, then you get to build the team and lead them in a setting you choose. Building robust data platform and services - You’ll map, architect and build a robust backend data platform that pulls together and harmonizes different sources of data from the heavy equipment industry. You’ll then build a series of APIs, integrations and services to enable this data platform to connect with our web & mobile products as well as internal tools.
Building web and mobile products & tools to power the marketplace - You’ll architect and build a modern eCommerce marketplace that enables the buying and selling of heavy equipment at scale while having the extensibility to layer in fintech products such as integrated financing and insurance.
Recruit and build the engineering team - Once the ball is rolling, you’ll then recruit and hire more members of the engineering team. Under your leadership, this team will build a strong foundation that will set the company up for rapid growth and scale.
You have 4+ years experience architecting and building software platforms, systems and applications. You’re comfortable thinking through the needs of the business and making choices on what the tech stack should be.
Engineering Management & Leadership - You have 2+ years experience managing other engineers. You know how to manage and deploy engineering resources against objectives to deliver quality results on time. You set high standards on code quality and lead reviews.
Team Building - You have experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding and training engineering talent. You know what it takes to build a winning engineering culture from the ground up and are passionate about developing technical talent as a mentor and a coach.
