As an Asset Management Associate, you will play a key role in managing the company's portfolio of hydropower assets. You will lead energy dispatch scheduling of hydroelectric facilities, conduct diligence on optimization initiatives for our portfolio, and monitor changes in power markets. This role fits within the Asset Management and Business Development group and may include assisting with due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.


Responsibilities – Asset Management

  • Provide daily offers and schedules for hydroelectric facilities into organized ISO/RTO power markets, and manage and maintain relationships with external energy managers
  • Maintain compliance with ISO/RTO market monthly/quarterly/annual requirements
  • Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder processes and provide market intelligence updates to senior management
  • Maintain relationships with counterparties, including off-takers, and fulfill regular reporting requirements
  • Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio facilities and prepare associated reports
  • Conduct diligence and lead teams, including external contractors, to execute optimization initiatives
  • Oversee integration of new regional acquisitions into the Company's operating platform


Responsibilities – Business Development

  • Assist with valuation models to analyze merits and risks of potential transactions
  • Support due diligence efforts and coordination with internal teams (Operations, Legal, Engineering, Finance)


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant fields
  • 2+ years of experience with organized ISO/RTO power markets
  • Experience managing data sets and building models in Excel
  • Keen ability to distill complex issues and synthesize data for presentation to senior management
  • Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive work
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant prior experiences
  • Visual Basic and/or Matlab programming experience
  • Experience with flexible power generation resources (gas-fired, hydropower, energy storage)
  • Previous project management and/or asset management experience
