My series C client is the #1 Diversity Recruitment Platform (DRP) and is looking to add a Lead DevOps Engineer to the team. They're backed by Sequoia and recently closed $20 million in funding.
The Tech Our stack consists of a Swift iOS app, Kotlin Android app, Vue.js frontend, Django / Python backend, ML recommendation-based microservice, and AWS/Netlify as our infrastructure, with a transition to Kubernetes-based deployments underway.
Role and Responsibilities
- Operate & troubleshoot company-wide infrastructure that supports everything from our backend Django app to our Python ML microservice
- Collaborate with our backend team to secure & deploy resilient, performant applications on our container-based infrastructure
- Support, troubleshoot, and optimize the databases that comprise our data layer, including: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis
- Take a security-first approach in executing on infrastructure projects and maintaining our highly available cloud infrastructure
- Use Infrastructure as Code solutions like CloudFormation to provision and configuration our cloud resources
- Collaborate with all of engineering to implement metrics, tracing, and monitoring for our various platforms
- Be instrumental in the future development of our organization, scaling us from hundreds of thousands of users to hundreds of millions
Skills and Experience
- 6+ years of experience managing production AWS workloads in a DevOps environment
- Experience implementing enterprise-level security best practices using AWS IAM and other solutions
- Experience managing applications using container technologies, including: Docker, AWS ECS, AWS ECR, Kubernetes
- Experience working with database technologies, including: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis
- Experience supporting distributed systems that leverage task queueing technologies like Celery
- Experience monitoring cloud environments using tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and PagerDuty
