Principal DevOps Engineer - Supply Chain

My client is a fast growing logistic and supply chain startup who currently provide servies in manjor metro areas across the US.  They give companies of any size the power to deliver products directly to customers by providing same-day and next-day delivery services.

We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to take an existing high performance system and development team and help get them to the next level. The ideal candidate should have deep experience with modern practices in CI/CD, and deep familiarity with cloud infrastructure and operations (in particular, on GCP). Experience should include creating highly available infrastructures as well as efficient development and release processes. You will be a key technical leader, enabling the growth of the proprietary logistics platform, with substantial opportunities to create and improve it in your own vision.



  • Lead the DevOps effort for a global engineering team and a platform supporting millions of transactions per day (and more than doubling in size annually)
  • Own and drive improvement in all technical aspects of our development process and tools, including source code management, build, test, packaging, release, and deployment processes
  • Own and drive improvement in our infrastructure configuration and management
  • Own the monitoring of all infrastructure and services, both availability and performance
  • Partner with other technical leaders to assess and improve our architecture’s maintainability, scalability and cost efficiency
  • Partner with other technical leaders to assess and improve our information security
  • Serve as a technical lead to other engineers (both software and DevOps engineers)
  • Contribute to the improvement of the team’s development and operations standards and processes


Requirements and Skills:

  • 5+ years of employment as a DevOps engineer (including site reliability engineering)
  • Strong experience with modern and automated DevOps toolchains: Git, Jenkins, Testing, Nexus or similar, and Docker
  • Strong experience building and maintaining cloud-based infrastructures (ideally in GCP)
  • Experience with deploying and monitoring large-scale, mission-critical cloud-based services
  • Experience with information security
  • Bonus: Production experience with Kubernetes, experience with IaC tools such as terraform, experience with Java application release engineering
