About the role:

The Risk Strategy Manager role is a rare opportunity to lead the effort to enable safer payments for our users and protect our network from fraud. You’ll use your operational expertise to define and execute a long-term vision for handling risk as we continue to rapidly grow and scale. If you’re passionate about solving problems with data, untangling ambiguity, and are eager to dive into the details to drive improvements, this role is for you.

In this role, you will:

  • Help build a best-in-class Risk Operations team that executes at scale
  • Perform analyses and research that help us make the right risk decisions for our business
  • Implement robust fraud-prevention systems that detect key signals from the noise
  • Be a trusted partner to our Data team to help build dashboards and reports that track the impact of our risk efforts
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations and Customer Success teams to develop strategies and analytical processes to effectively mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering teams to prioritize and launch impactful improvements to the user experience

Skills and Experience 

  • 3+ years of experience as a data analyst or manager in a high-growth environment
  • Ability to dig deep into unstructured data and turn it into actionable insights
  • Strong risk and fraud domain knowledge/intuition
  • SQL knowledge, ability to learn more advanced data programming is a plus
  • Hustle and creativity when it comes to problem-solving and can also lead people to get things done
  • Consistently makes sound judgement calls when presented with difficult decisions
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills that will influence Product and Operations teams
  • BS/BA or higher in quantitative fields (Stats, Math, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or similar)
  • US work authorization
