Our client; a global leader in providing trusted analytics & insights to accelerate the pace of innovation are transforming how their shared services technology will service business strategies going forward. Therefore, they require a Senior Program Director to join their team in to plan and deliver an exciting new roadmap of exciting & challenging projects.

The Director will manage a group of scrum masters/project managers, and be fully responsible for planning, executing and reporting on the portfolio, programs and constituting projects in the shared services technology group.

Including, but not limited to setting up and running program operating rhythms, annual portfolio planning, program planning, setting up managing budgets, forecasts and costs, setting up and drive delivery processes and governance to improve delivery performance, and dealing with project and program escalations with internal and external groups, senior management and executives.

The Director will also need to have a hands-on approach to manage critical projects if & when needed. Additionally, the program director will also take the lead to advocate and implement various change activities driven by business and technology strategies. 

Due to the shared nature of the work, the Senior PM must have a strong command of the front door and demand management processes, to ensure swift reactions to multiple requests whilst at the same time prioritize, combine, sequence to ensure our client delivers the best value to the company & clients. The shared services technology group covers technology platform services, Analytics, Content Technology, Data Sciences, and other related fields.



  • Works with multiple technologies, business, and delivery teams, become accountable for the planning, management, delivery, and reporting of all project work in the shared services technology group

  • Set up and run appropriate Project Management Framework, Methodologies (Agile and/or Waterfall) and corporate processes to execute projects ensuring compliance with all deliverables and stage gate reviews

  • Set up and establish an efficient front-door and demand management processes to manage, prioritize and deliver effectively requests from various groups with competing and overlapping needs

  • Set up, manage and evolves the portfolio operating rhythms, including but not limited to reporting and information flows, meeting cadences

  • Effectively communicates and continuously manage program expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

  • Drafts and submits budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary

  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts between different groups working in the portfolio

  • Plans, tracks, and schedules program and portfolio timelines and milestones using appropriate tools

  • Develops and delivers delivery and cost reports and presentations

  • Proactively enables and manages changes in the portfolio

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project projects and project team members

  • Ensure project post mortems take place and lessons are learned

  • Manages critical supplier and internal customer relationships

  • Maintains extensive knowledge and expertise in project management disciplines, as well as multiple business processes and/or technical areas

  • An advocate of strong and effective program and project management standards, disciplines and rigor with other Clarivate Analytics team members



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing technology programs, ideally in the platform and shared technology services

  • 15+ years of experience in the technology field

  • Certified in PMP or similar

  • Experience in directly managing project managers & scrum masters, and setting up the team

  • Proven ability to lead groups and individuals working in different locations and time zones globally

  • Excellent ability to prioritize multiple projects that compete on resources

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation

  • Strong leadership skills to direct, focus and motivate the teams and stakeholders

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • A problem solver, self-starter and someone who proactively engages with the situation and make progress

  • Proven ability to understand the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate the politics

  • Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions

  • Ability to identify and apply multiple solutions to business problems




  • Ten years minimum experience leading technology programs

  • Proven experience setting up and running an Agile framework

  • Leading Scrum Teams and project managers

  • Experience with JIRA
