Our client, a leading conversational AI platform, is looking for a Senior or Staff Engineer for their Agent Building team, based in New York.Their technology lets industry defining enterprises deploy AI agents across voice, chat, email, SMS and every other channel, and they are backed by a group of the best known venture investors in the market. The Agent Building team creates the platform customers use to build, maintain and improve their AI agents, turning complex engineering work into intuitive self serve products for both technical and non technical teams. This is a technical leadership seat on a full stack product engineering team. In office. Compensation is $300K to $430K plus equity.Role & Responsibilities:- Drive technical direction for the agent building platform, establishing patterns and architecture that scale with customers and features- Lead complex initiatives from ambiguous requirements through to shipped products- Create AI powered tools that let non technical teams build and optimise sophisticated agents- Work day to day with product and design through discovery, requirements, design review and launch- Define technical strategy alongside the agent engineering and product management teams- Mentor engineers as the team grows, supervising projects and setting technical standardsSkills & Experience:- 6+ years building full stack software products with demonstrated impact on technical direction- Deep expertise in TypeScript and/or Python with strong architecture and system design skills- Proven ability to design abstractions and platforms that serve diverse use cases elegantly- Track record leading technical initiatives and driving consensus across teams- Strong product intuition, translating user feedback into technical solutions- Even better: developer tools, APIs or platform products, plus familiarity with LLMs, agent systems and prompt engineering
