Our client, an applied AI company transforming how the built environment is designed and constructed, is looking for a Founding Member of Technical Staff.Backed by a top tier venture fund, they acquire civil, structural and MEP engineering firms and transform them with applied AI, building purpose built tools for their staff and compounding proprietary intelligence across acquisitions. Their thesis is that around 85% of what engineers do today is theoretically automatable while under 5% has been touched by AI, the largest gap of any profession. This role works directly with the founders shipping the first iterations of the operating system behind that transformation. Compensation is $150K to $300K.Role & Responsibilities:- Embed with staff at engineering firms alongside the founders, then build against what you saw- Own problems end to end, from discovery through deployment and debugging in production- Build and deploy core platform layers including data connectors, document intelligence and a structured knowledge store- Collaborate directly with the CTO on engineering culture, technical direction and what to build next- Engage with architecture decisions, firm acquisitions and product strategy from zero- Distil noisy, conflicting user feedback into a clear opinion about what to buildSkills & Experience:- Strong engineering background with a track record shipping end to end in early stage environments- Experience or interest in LLMs, agent frameworks, RAG, browser automation or document parsing- Deep curiosity about how organisations, workflows and markets actually work- Poise and communication skills to earn trust with people who have never worked with a tech company before- Comfortable being the person who writes the web scraper or sits with users on off the shelf tools- No task is beneath you, and you constantly ask why
