Summary:
As a Senior Back End Engineer, you’ll become a key part of an esteemed team revolutionizing the rental landscape. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, implementation, and documentation of back-end services for our pioneering mobile app and website. This role also includes coaching junior team members, coordinating with other team players and stakeholders, establishing best practices, ensuring the technical feasibility of integrations, and enhancing the application for optimum speed, scalability, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Explore and apply Google Cloud Platform services to continually refine application architecture
- Develop microservices utilizing Java and the Quarkus framework
- Facilitate integrations with third-party APIs in areas such as payments, banking, loyalty programs, commerce, and property management
- Advocate for and improve automation strategies involving infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, and alerting
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Produce well-designed, testable, and efficient code
- Emerge as a key player in our team, collaborating with the Head of Engineering and Head of Product
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Proven, hands-on software development experience
- Evident expertise in Java development, REST, API security standards, and Google Cloud Platform
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Familiarity with the start-up environment is preferable
- A fierce determination to succeed and contribute to overall team objectives
