We are assisting a boutique privately funded data and analytics firm as they expand their Data Science function. This Senior Data Scientist will build pricing and underwriting algorithms and help shape and design the analytics function.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years (5+ preferred) of experience in data science / predictive analytics
- Background developing advanced statistical and machine learning models
- Expert level knowledge using Python, R, or SQL
- Superior communication skillsAdvanced degree preferred
- Enjoys start-up culture
Responsibilities:
- Apply data science and modeling techniques to address a broad range of pricing and underwriting opportunities
- Partner with the other team members to turn data into models, and models into insights
- Perform data quality analysis and uncover insights
- Interact with customer product, actuarial, and data science staff
- Contribute to decision-making to refine the product architecture
- Mentor junior staff
- Collaborate with both technical and business-focused colleagues
